Ocean Kayak™ Introduces Nalu 12.5 Paddleboard

Ocean Kayak™, a leader in the paddlesports market since 1971, today introduced the new Nalu 12.5 stand up paddleboard (SUP). A versatile craft that can he paddled from both standing and seated positions, the durable, stable Nalu 12.5 is suited for a variety of water from lakes and slow moving rivers to moderate surf.
A second-generation paddleboard, the Nalu 12.5 is crafted around the original Ocean Kayak Nalu hybrid SUP with a few key points of differentiation. The Nalu 12.5 is longer and features a Quick Seal bow hatch for storage, allowing paddlers the freedom to carry extra gear and stray a bit further from shore. The Nalu 12.5 will also come standard with the Comfort Tech seat back providing added versatility and performance.
“Consumers responded quite well to the original Nalu and the Nalu 12.5 was a natural extension of the line,” said Sara Knies, Ocean Kayak Marketing Director. “The Nalu 12.5 was built for more speed and efficiency, yet maintains the stability and accessibility of the original stand up paddleboard.”
An efficient stand up craft, the Nalu 12.5 maintains stability while providing exceptional glide. Molded-in tail fins give the Nalu 12.5 solid tracking and textured foot wells provide extra traction for paddling while standing. The Nalu 12.5 also features two self-draining scuppers, a storage bungee and ergonomic carrying handles.
Like its predecessor, the Nalu 12.5 can be complimented with the Carlisle Taboo paddle, a unique hybrid that will convert from a stand up paddle to a more traditional 230cm kayak paddle depending on the paddler’s needs.
