Dan Dalton
Home Base: Grew up in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, spent 6 years in the US Air Force and returned to Michigan, lived in Mt. Clemens and Otsego. In September I relocated to Lake Mills, Wisconsin. Michigan will always be home base!
Favorite Ocean Kayak and why: The Trident Ultra 4.7, I fish Lake Michigan a lot and it can handle the big waves and cold water in the early spring. This is an awesome kayak for chasing big fish!
Other Gear: Shimano reels, St. Croix rods, PowerPro line, Humminbird Fishfinder, and Scotty accessories. Quality and gear I can use in fresh and saltwater.
About Dan: Started fishing in a kayak in 2003, but I have been fishing the Great Lakes all my life. Dan is the founder and web master of MichiganKayakFishing.com, one of the largest kayak fishing websites in the Great Lakes. Dan is also the Great Lakes Coordinator for “Heroes On The Water”. Heroes on the Water (HOW) serves all military personnel who have been wounded, injured or disabled. What looks like a day trip of paddling and fishing for wounded vets is in fact something much deeper and long-lasting.
Dan has fished in his kayak all over Florida, Virginia and the Great Lakes Area. His favorite fish to target is the Chinook salmon they fight and explode, tail walk across the water, long hard runs, and great for a sleigh ride!
Kayak fishing philosophy:
Kayak Fishing wherever and whenever.
